Melanie Gillman is an award-winning author and illustrator known for their work in the graphic novel genre. They have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Comics from the Center for Cartoon Studies and have been creating comics for over a decade. Gillman's work often explores themes of queer identity, race, and gender, and has been published in numerous anthologies and magazines. Their first solo graphic novel, As the Crow Flies, was nominated for multiple awards and received critical acclaim. Stage Dreams is their second graphic novel, showcasing their unique artistic style and powerful storytelling. Gillman currently resides in Denver, Colorado where they continue to create compelling and diverse graphic novels.
