Mattie and Rabbit: Mattie is a gardener and every winter she eagerly awaits the arrival of her beloved purple crocuses. They are the first flowers of spring. One day, after a long, hungry winter, Rabbit hops into Mattie’s garden and finds the flowers. The delicious crocuses have just bloomed. They push through the snow like magic -- and Rabbit, who has just survived his first winter eating tasteless twigs and pine needles, eats every single one! Mattie is so upset at what Rabbit has done. It isn’t fair. She had waited so long! How can she stop Rabbit? Should she set a trap or get a big dog?

Set against the changing seasons and uniquely illustrated, Mattie and Rabbit is a heartwarming story about empathy, resilience, and the choices we make when life doesn't go as planned.
