Kazu Kibuishi is an American graphic novel author and illustrator, best known for his popular series Amulet. Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1978, Kibuishi moved to the United States with his family at a young age. He showed an early talent for drawing and began creating his own comics in high school. After studying film at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Kibuishi pursued a career in illustration and published his first graphic novel, Daisy Kutter: The Last Train, in 2005.
