Kazu Kibuishi is an American graphic novel author and illustrator, best known for his popular series Amulet. Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1978, Kibuishi moved to the United States with his family at a young age. He showed an early talent for drawing and began creating his own comics in high school. After studying film at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Kibuishi pursued a career in illustration and published his first graphic novel, Daisy Kutter: The Last Train, in 2005. The success of this debut led to the launch of his bestselling Amulet series, which has been translated into over twenty languages. Kibuishi's work has been praised for its imaginative storytelling, dynamic artwork, and diverse representation. He continues to create captivating graphic novels for readers of all ages.
