Gene Luen Yang is an award-winning author, graphic novelist, and cartoonist. He is best known for his popular works such as "American Born Chinese," "Boxers and Saints," and his collaboration with Gurihiru on the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" comics. Yang has won numerous awards for his works including the Printz Award and the Eisner Award. He is also a recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship, also known as the "Genius Grant," for his contributions to the world of literature and graphic novels. In addition to his writing, Yang is also a passionate educator, using comics as a tool to engage and inspire young readers. He continues to push the boundaries of storytelling and representation in the comic industry.
