Kelly Starling Lyons is a highly acclaimed author who has written over a dozen children's books, including the popular "Jada Jones" chapter book series. She has always had a passion for storytelling and writing, which led her to pursue a degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Lyons also holds a Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her books have received numerous awards and honors, including the Coretta Scott King Honor and the Ezra Jack Keats New Writer Award. With a focus on diversity and representation, Lyons' books celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of African American culture and experiences. She currently lives in North Carolina with her family.
