Susan Muaddi Darraj is an award-winning Palestinian-American writer, editor, and professor. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, she holds a BA in English from the University of Maryland and an MFA in Creative Writing from American University. Darraj has published several critically acclaimed short story collections, including A Curious Land: Stories from Home and Inheritance of Exile. She is also the founder of the Jerusalem Fund's Palestine Book Award and serves as the co-editor of the popular blog, "Jadaliyya." Ruaida Mannaa, the illustrator of Farah Rocks New Beginnings, is a Palestinian artist and designer based in Jerusalem. She has illustrated numerous children's books and has collaborated with various non-profit organizations to create visual narratives that shed light on issues of social justice and human rights. Her illustrations have been featured in exhibitions around the world, including in the United States, Palestine, and the United Kingdom. She is dedicated to using her art to promote cultural and societal awareness and to empower marginalized communities.
