Steve is discouraged ... That is, until he finds a shiny gold horn in the forest. Obviously, somebody left this exceptional horn for him to find! He ties it to his head and prances off to show his friends. Who’s exceptional now? Steve, that’s who! Only, as Steve’s friends make clear, dressing up and showing off are not the answer.

Kelly Collier is an award-winning author and illustrator based in Toronto, Canada. She has a background in animation and has worked on various projects for television and film. However, her true passion lies in creating children's books that are both humorous and heartwarming. Kelly's unique style of using mixed media and digital elements in her illustrations has garnered her recognition and praise in the literary world. In addition to Steve, A Pretty Exceptional Horse, she has also written and illustrated other popular picture books such as Sheep Dog and Sheep Sheep and The Kissing Hand series. When she's not immersed in her creative projects, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and going on adventures with her own pretty exceptional horse.
