Jeff Kinney is an American author, cartoonist, and game designer best known for his popular children's book series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Born in 1971 in Maryland, Kinney showed a passion for drawing and writing at a young age. After graduating from the University of Maryland, he pursued a career in cartooning and created the comic strip "Igdoof" for the campus newspaper. However, it was not until years later, after working as a game designer and developing the online game "Poptropica," that Kinney finally found success with his first book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The series has since become a worldwide phenomenon, selling over 200 million copies and being translated into 77 languages. Kinney continues to write and illustrate new books in the series, delighting readers of all ages with his humorous and relatable storytelling.
