Jeff Kinney is a successful American author and cartoonist, best known for his popular children's book series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Born in 1971 in Maryland, Kinney attended the University of Maryland where he studied computer science and eventually became a game designer. However, his passion for writing and drawing led him to create and publish the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid book in 2007. Since then, the series has sold millions of copies worldwide and been translated into over 60 languages. Kinney is also the creator of the popular website, Poptropica, and has won numerous awards for his work, including the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Book. He continues to write and illustrate new books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, captivating young readers with his humorous and relatable stories.
