Author Megan Dowd Lambert created the Whole Book Approach storytime model in association with The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. In 2015 Megan published Reading Picture Books with Children: How to Shake Up Storytime and Get Kids Talking About What They See (Charlesbridge 2015) to bring the Whole Book Approach to an even wider audience. Time and again, readers asked Megan for book lists and storytime plans, and this book, Read It Again: 70 Whole Book Approach Plans to Help You Shake Up Storytime, responds to those requests.
While the plans are grouped according to suggested grade levels, you should feel free to determine which titles will best meet the needs and interests of the children in your life, no matter what grade they’re in, or whether you’re a teacher, librarian, parent, or other caregiver. With discussions supported by the Whole Book Approach, each picture book will seem brand new to you, no matter how many times you hear the phrase, “Read it again!”
