Mo Willems is a beloved American author and illustrator, known for his humorous and heartwarming children's books. He was born in 1968 in Des Plaines, Illinois and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. After studying animation at New York University, Willems worked for Sesame Street and then as a writer and animator for Cartoon Network's hit show, "Codename: Kids Next Door." In 2003, he published his first picture book, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" which became a New York Times bestseller and launched Willems' successful career as a children's book author. He is also the creator of the popular Elephant and Piggie series and has won multiple awards for his work. Willems currently lives in Massachusetts with his family.
