Suzanne Collins is an American author known for her popular young adult novels, including the bestselling Hunger Games trilogy. Born in 1962 in Hartford, Connecticut, Collins grew up in a military family and spent much of her childhood moving around the United States. She began her career in television, writing for shows such as Clarissa Explains It All and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. In 2003, she published her first novel, Gregor the Overlander, which marked the beginning of her successful career as a novelist. With the release of The Hunger Games in 2008, Collins became a household name and her books have been translated into over 50 languages. She continues to write and live in Connecticut with her family.
