Becky Chambers is an American science fiction writer, known for her imaginative and thought-provoking works. She was born and raised in California and studied creative writing at the University of Southern California. After graduation, she worked as a technical writer and freelance writer before pursuing her dream of writing fiction. Her breakthrough novel, The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet, was a critical and commercial success, earning her nominations for the Hugo and Arthur C. Clarke Awards. Since then, she has published several other novels, including the Monk and Robot series, which explores themes of identity, humanity, and technology. Chambers' writing has been praised for its diverse and relatable characters, world-building, and ethical dilemmas. She currently lives in Northern California with her partner and their pet dog.
