Jeff Kinney is an American author, cartoonist, and game designer. He is best known for his popular children's book series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Born and raised in Maryland, Kinney attended the University of Maryland where he initially studied computer science before switching to cartooning. He started his career as a game designer, creating the online game Poptropica. However, it was his book series, which follows the hilarious misadventures of middle school student Greg Heffley, that catapulted him to literary success. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series has been translated into over 65 languages and has sold over 250 million copies worldwide. Kinney's unique blend of humor and relatable storytelling has made him a beloved author among children and adults alike.
