Arnold Lobel (1933-1987) was an American author and illustrator best known for his beloved children's books about Frog and Toad. Born in Los Angeles, California, Lobel began his career as a freelance artist and eventually turned to writing and illustrating children's books. He published his first book, A Zoo for Mister Muster, in 1962 and went on to write over 100 books for children. His most famous work, the Frog and Toad series, has been cherished by generations of readers for its heartwarming stories, charming illustrations, and gentle humor. Lobel's books have been translated into numerous languages and have won multiple awards, including a Newbery Honor for Frog and Toad Together.
