Lincoln Peirce is an American cartoonist and author best known for creating the popular comic strip "Big Nate." Born in Ames, Iowa, Peirce developed a love for drawing at a young age and went on to study art at Colby College. After working as a teacher and freelance illustrator, Peirce began his career as a cartoonist, which eventually led to the creation of "Big Nate" in 1991. He has since published numerous collections of his comic strips and has also ventured into writing middle-grade books, including the critically acclaimed "Max and the Midknights" series. Peirce's witty humor and dynamic illustrations have captivated readers of all ages, making him one of the most beloved authors in the world of children's literature.
