At our casual monthly Graphic Novel Book Club for kids ages 8-12, we read a mix of realistic fiction and fantasy graphic novels and fall deeply in love with the graphic novel format—which has been proven to be a meaningful tool for encouraging and sustaining readers. 

Hosted by Kinsey, these lively sessions are part literacy group, part art critique discussion, and fully social and fun: Readers practice sharing their opinions about their favorite format and genres with other kids, and it's a delight to watch friendships form here month after month.

Sponsoring one month of book club sustains this program by covering the staff time that goes into planning, promoting, and managing the group.
