Remy Lai is a children's book author and illustrator who was born in Indonesia and raised in Singapore. She graduated from the Queensland College of Art in Australia with a degree in animation and worked as a visual effects artist before pursuing her passion for writing and illustrating children's books. Her debut novel, Pie in the Sky, was a Kirkus Reviews Best Book of the Year and a New York Public Library Best Book for Kids. Surviving the Wild: Star the Elephant is her second novel and showcases her love for animals and the natural world.
