Arnold Lobel was an American author and illustrator known for his beloved children's books, including the popular Frog and Toad series. He was born in Los Angeles, California in 1933 and showed a talent for drawing and storytelling from a young age. After attending art school in New York, Lobel began his career as an illustrator for other authors' books before eventually creating his own stories. His writing style was simple yet engaging, and his charming illustrations brought his characters to life. Lobel's work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Caldecott Medal for his book Fables in 1981. Unfortunately, Lobel passed away in 1987 at the age of 54, but his timeless stories continue to be enjoyed by generations of young readers.
