Kelly Yang is an award-winning author, speaker, and activist. Born in China and raised in Los Angeles, she knows firsthand the struggles of immigrants and the power of the American Dream. Yang graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, and she now runs The Kelly Yang Project, a leading writing and debating program for children in Asia. She is also a columnist for the South China Morning Post and has been published in various international publications. Front Desk is Yang's debut middle grade novel, inspired by her own experiences growing up in motels and working at her parents' motel front desk. She currently resides in Hong Kong with her family.
