And? Your readers feel GREAT knowing that their purchase benefits your organization and your local independent children's bookstore!

Two Book Fair Choices

In-Store Book Fairs

In-Store Book Fairs

Held from 6:30-8:30pm on Wednesday evenings after the store is closed, shoppers are invited for after-hours mingling, browsing, and purchasing for their readers (and for any educator wishlists). Feel free to make it a grownups-only event, or invite kids to shop, too! Want to bring snacks? Great! This makes for a sweet community-strengthening event for schools and organizations.
Virtual Book Fairs

Virtual Book Fairs

We work with you to create a unique Bookshop.org shopping page, packed with books, puzzles, art supplies, and more hand-picked by our High Five team. And, we share info flyers that help you explain to your community how the book fair works. For two weeks, share that shopping link far and wide! Patrons can select books to be shipped anywhere in the U.S., within about a week. (It's as easy as shopping at the other main online book retailer.)

Book Fair FAQs

  • Some groups use in-store book fairs as a community-building activity: They want to bring local families together in person to connect and celebrate, sometimes around a theme or school initiative. Some PTOs use in-school book fairs to kick off (or close out) the school year or create community around a holiday or school-specific event (like a Spirit Week).
  • Virtual book fairs are awesome for groups whose audience might not be Florence, MA-based, but who might willingly offer support from afar. For schools or organizations who have a broad online following, this can be a great way to garner funds to build or add to a library or resource collection.

No, sorry: We only offer book fair proceeds in High Five Books store credit.

After your fundraiser is over, our team is glad to help your organization choose the best way to spend funds, whether it's a shopping night for your team, a list of books you'd like us to order, gift cards for individual educators, etc.

(Note: We cannot apply our traditional educator or nonprofit discount to these store credit purchases.)

That's totally up to how many people shop it! We split our proceeds with you, so the more you promote your event, the greater the likelihood folks will shop it. Groups have raised $100-$700 in store credit with us so far.

And yes: We'll provide you with all the assets you need to promote your event: You just broadcast it as far and wide as you like!

One per calendar year (virtual OR in-store). Reserve your date here!
