Grace Lin is an award-winning author and illustrator who has written and illustrated numerous children's books. Born in upstate New York to Taiwanese immigrant parents, she drew inspiration from her own childhood experiences for her writing. She received her degree in illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design and went on to publish her first book, The Ugly Vegetables, in 1999. Since then, she has written and illustrated many beloved books, including The Year of the Dog, which was the first book in her popular Pacy Lin series. In addition to her writing, Lin is a vocal advocate for diversity in children's literature and has spoken at schools and conferences around the world.
