Gene Luen Yang is an award-winning cartoonist and graphic novelist known for his thought-provoking and diverse works. Born in California, Yang majored in computer science at the University of California, Berkeley before pursuing a career in comics. He is best known for his graphic novel American Born Chinese, the first graphic novel to be nominated for a National Book Award.
