Lincoln Peirce is an American cartoonist and author, best known for creating the popular comic strip "Big Nate." Born in Iowa in 1963, Peirce grew up with a passion for drawing and writing, and his childhood experiences often inspire his work. After attending Colby College and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Peirce began his career as a freelance artist, creating illustrations for various publications. In 1991, he created the comic strip "Big Nate," which follows the misadventures of sixth-grader Nate Wright and his friends. The strip has been syndicated in over 400 newspapers worldwide and has been adapted into multiple books, including the widely successful "Big Nate" series. Peirce continues to write and illustrate "Big Nate" while also working on other projects, such as the "Max and the Midknights" series. He currently resides in Portland, Maine with his family.
