Jeff Kinney is an American author, cartoonist, and game designer best known for his popular children's book series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Born in 1971 in Maryland, Kinney began drawing comics at a young age and continued to pursue his passion for writing and illustrating throughout his education at the University of Maryland. After working as a web designer and game developer, Kinney eventually found success with his first book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which was released in 2007. Since then, he has published numerous books in the series, as well as worked on animated films and other projects related to the franchise. Kinney's books have been translated into over 50 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide, making him one of the most beloved and successful children's authors of all time.
