Dav Pilkey is a beloved children's author and illustrator, best known for his wildly popular Captain Underpants and Dog Man series. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966, Pilkey struggled with dyslexia and ADHD as a child, which inspired him to create stories and drawings as a way to cope. After attending Kent State University, he worked as a freelance illustrator and eventually published his first book, World War Won, in 1987. Pilkey's books have been praised for their humor, creativity, and ability to engage reluctant readers. He continues to write and illustrate from his home in Washington state, where he lives with his wife and pets.
