Dav Pilkey is an American author and illustrator best known for his popular children's book series, Captain Underpants. Born on March 4, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, Pilkey struggled with dyslexia and ADHD as a child, which led to him being labeled as a troublemaker in school. However, he found solace in drawing and writing, and eventually turned his love for comics and storytelling into a successful career. In addition to the Captain Underpants series, Pilkey has also written and illustrated other beloved books such as Dog Man, Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot, and The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby. He currently lives in Washington state with his wife and their dog.
