Dav Pilkey is an American author and illustrator known for his popular children's book series, including the Dog Man and Captain Underpants series. Born on March 4, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, Pilkey knew from a young age that he wanted to be a cartoonist. He created his first comic book at the age of 8 and continued to pursue his passion for drawing and storytelling throughout his education. After graduating from Kent State University, he worked as an illustrator and writer for various companies before publishing his first book, "World War Won", in 1987. Pilkey's unique sense of humor and lively illustrations have captivated readers of all ages, making him one of the most beloved authors in children's literature.
