Dav Pilkey is an American author and illustrator best known for his popular children's book series, Captain Underpants and Dog Man. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Pilkey struggled with dyslexia and ADHD as a child, which inspired him to create stories and comics to entertain himself and his classmates. He began writing and illustrating books in elementary school and continued to pursue his passion for drawing and storytelling throughout his education.
