Zetta Elliott is a prolific author, educator, and activist who has written over thirty works of fiction and poetry for children and young adults. Born and raised in Canada, she now calls Brooklyn, New York her home. Elliott holds a PhD in American Studies from New York University and has taught at various universities including Ohio University and Hunter College. Her writing often explores themes of race, class, and gender, and she is a strong advocate for diversity and representation in children's literature. In addition to her writing, Elliott also works as a mentor and workshop facilitator for young writers.
