Crystal Maldonado is a Latina author and teacher who grew up in a small town in Massachusetts. She holds a Master's degree in creative writing from Emerson College and has been recognized for her work with a number of writing awards. Maldonado is passionate about telling diverse stories and advocating for representation in literature. In addition to writing, she also enjoys teaching and mentoring young writers. Fat Chance, Charlie Vega is her debut novel and has received critical acclaim for its authentic portrayal of a plus-size Latina teenager navigating friendship, family, and love.
