Lincoln Peirce is an American cartoonist and author best known for his acclaimed comic strip "Big Nate." Born in Iowa in 1963, Peirce showed an early interest in drawing and writing, creating his first comic strip at the age of six. He went on to study art at Colby College and worked as a teacher and freelance illustrator before launching "Big Nate" in 1991. The strip, which follows the misadventures of a middle school student, has been syndicated in over 400 newspapers worldwide. In addition to his successful comic strip, Peirce has also written and illustrated several children's books, including the New York Times bestselling series "Max & The Midknights." He currently lives in Portland, Maine with his wife and two children.
