Gary Lonesborough is an Australian author, playwright, and screenwriter. He was born and raised in the small town of Cowra, New South Wales, and is a proud member of the Wiradjuri nation. Lonesborough's writing often explores the experiences of Indigenous Australians, particularly young people, and the intersection of their cultural identity with modern society. He has been recognized for his work, receiving the City of Sydney's inaugural Redfern Indigenous Writers' Award in 2016. Lonesborough's debut novel, Ready When You Are, is a powerful coming-of-age story that reflects his own experiences growing up as an Indigenous Australian. He continues to use his voice and platform to shed light on important issues and advocate for marginalized communities.
