Richard Scarry was a beloved children's author and illustrator known for his whimsical and detailed illustrations. Born in Boston in 1919, Scarry developed a passion for drawing at a young age and went on to study at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. He began his career as a freelance illustrator, creating artwork for magazines and advertising campaigns.
