She was born in Toronto, Canada and has a background in fine arts and art history. Jocelyn's work has been praised for its unique storytelling style and engaging illustrations. She has received numerous awards and nominations for her work, including the Governor General's Literary Award for Children's Literature. Tom Slaughter is an American artist and illustrator who collaborated with Jocelyn on the book Same Same. He has illustrated over 20 children's books and his artwork has been exhibited in galleries around the world. His bold and colorful illustrations have been described as playful and eye-catching. Slaughter's work has also been featured in magazines, newspapers, and advertisements.
