Creator Bio
Michelle Tea is an American author, poet, and activist known for her raw and honest writing style. She was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts and grew up in a working-class family. Tea is the author of several books including the award-winning memoir "Valencia" and the young adult novel "Girl at the Bottom of the Sea." She is also the founder of the literary non-profit organization RADAR Productions and the creator of the Drag Queen Story Hour series. Through her writing and activism, Tea champions LGBTQ+ rights and representation, making her a prominent figure in the queer literary community. Joining her in the creation of the Tabitha and Magoo Dress Up Too (Drag Queen Story Hour Books) is illustrator Ellis van der Does, a Dutch artist known for her whimsical and colorful illustrations. Together, Tea and Van der Does bring joy, inclusivity, and creativity to young readers through their Drag Queen Story Hour books.
