Jeff Kinney is an American author, cartoonist, and game designer best known for his series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He was born on February 19, 1971 in Fort Washington, Maryland. Kinney attended the University of Maryland and studied computer science and later received a degree in cartooning from the New England School of Art and Design. He started his career as a newspaper cartoonist and eventually created Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which quickly became a best-selling series. Kinney's books have been translated into 65 languages and have sold over 200 million copies worldwide. He continues to write and illustrate new books in the series, and his work has been adapted into movies, video games, and a musical. Kinney currently lives in Massachusetts with his wife and two sons.
