Christina Soontornvat is a children's book author and former mechanical engineer. She has written over a dozen books for young readers, including the acclaimed Diary of an Ice Princess series and the Newbery Honor-winning novel, A Wish in the Dark. Born in Thailand and raised in the United States, Soontornvat brings a unique perspective to her writing, often incorporating themes of family, culture, and identity. In addition to writing, she also enjoys giving presentations and workshops to inspire young readers and writers. She currently resides in Austin, Texas with her family. The Tryout: A Graphic Novel is her first collaboration with illustrator Joanna Cacao.
